Danville’s most popular football family is teaming up to provide after school programs for middle school students. Trey, Terrell, and Tremaine Edmunds have all played or are currently playing in the NFL and the three brothers have always made it a priority to give back to their hometown.
During the Danville School Board meeting last week Trey Edmunds said that their program will focus heavily on the arts.
“What we’re trying to do is provide a program that can enhance the student both academically and interpersonally,” said Edmunds, “we want to create better students, but also better people.”
“We want to be able to introduce the arts, the music, the drama, and we want to be able to introduce that to the students.”
The E-BOYZ Innovative learning program is focusing on middle school students in the region because of the current lack of after school programs for those students. Edmunds also noted that they have a five year plan that will include a mentoring program where students who have completed the program will come back and mentor other students in the program.
The program will be housed at I.W. Taylor and the plan is to launch the program at the beginning of January.
