A Gretna Middle School student has been arrested after bringing a gun to school and pointing it at another student. According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, at 12:45 pm they received information that a firearm was inside of Gretna Middle School.
The School Resource Officer located and recovered the firearm inside a trash can without incident. During the course of the investigation a juvenile offender was identified and arrested on the following charges:
Code of Virginia 18.2-308.1- Possession of firearm on school property
Code of Virginia 18.2-308.7- Possession or transportation of certain firearms by persons under the age of 18.
Code of Virginia 18.2-282- Pointing, holding, or brandishing a firearm
The offenders information cannot be released due to being under the age of 18.
