Several law enforcement agencies have arrested 29 people on drug related charges in Halifax County. 

The operation was conducted May 12-14, 2023. A total of 29 arrests were made for various drug charges. In addition to the charges, officers seized Heroin, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Powdered Cocaine, Crack Cocaine and Marijuana. In addition to the suspected narcotics, 2 firearms were seized as well as U.S. Currency. Some of these charges were from ongoing Task Force Investigations while others were from charges that were already outstanding.

Sheriff Clark stated there are more arrest warrants on file for more individuals involved with this operation that have not been located. The operation is continuing.

The operation consisted of the following agencies: Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, South Boston Police Department, Halifax Police Department, Virginia State Police K9 Units, Tri-County Task Force coordinated by VSP Special Agent Jason Lacks and Halifax/South Boston Narcotic and Gang Task Force coordinated by VSP Special Agent R.B. George.
