The Danville Police Department is bringing the Boys to Men program to the W.W. Moore Detention Center. Sgt. David Ferguson spoke about the program on the department’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
“What we’re trying to do is not only help these guys in their quest when they get out of jail to help them get jobs and fill out applications and stuff like that, but we also want them to be better people,” said Ferguson.
During the program, youth learn about listening and vulnerability; hygiene; education, communication and inspiration; and how to treat women in addition to other topics.
