The average price of gas in Virginia dropped slightly this week to $3.309 per gallon, down from $3.321 last week and $3.497 a month ago, according to AAA. The average national price is $3.540 a gallon, similar to last week’s price of $3.53.

The average price in Danville as of Monday morning is $3.157 a gallon, while in Pittsylvania County it’s $3.243. In Martinsville the average price is $3.244, while prices in Henry County are slightly cheaper at $3.213. The highest average price in the southside is currently Halifax County where the average price is $3.327.
