Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Bassett on Sunday afternoon. A child was also seriously injured in the crash.

The accident occurred at 4:45 pm on Blackberry Road when two cars crashed head on at the intersection of Foley Drive. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were identified as 54-year-old Denise Cabrera-Cruz and 22-year-old Kateland McKinney. A juvenile male was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to SOVAH Health Martinsville, before being taken to Roanoke.
