A missing 89-year-old Henry County man has been found safe after he was reported missing overnight. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 9:36 pm that Mason McCarty Preston had wandered away from his home at 1579 Evergreen Drive in Spencer and had been missing for several hours.

The sheriff’s office called in additional resources and at 7 am Preston was found laying in a creek about 200 yards away from his home. Preston was conscious when he was found and was transported to a nearby hospital.
