An Eden man has been charged with first degree murder after a shooting on Monday morning. At approximately 10:00 am, the Eden Police Department responded to 441 Wedgewood Ct to investigate a reported shooting. 

Once inside the residence, Officers located 25-year-old Jacob Ray Bullins suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Despite life-saving measures, Bullins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation revealed 23-year-old Tristan Simpson shot Bullins.

Tristan McKane Simpson of Eden was arrested and charged with one count of 1st-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Simpson was issued no bond on all his charges and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on June 20, 2023.
