God’s Pit Crew volunteers and staff unveiled a new home for a Tennessee family on Thursday. The Ellis family had been displaced from their home since August 2021 due to catastrophic flooding in Nunnelly, Tennessee.
The team rebuilt, fully furnished, and affectionately decorated the new home for the Ellis family in less than two weeks – and the home came at no cost to the family.
The volunteers and staff redeployed to Nunnelly, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 11, to the rebuilding site to begin construction of the new home and were able to complete the project in less than two weeks. Following the initial flooding in August of 2021, God’s Pit Crew was able to provide the affected area with emergency supplies and Blessing Buckets, which are five-gallon buckets packed with non-perishable food, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement.
“It has truly been a blessing to come back to Nunnelly and continue caring for the people who were so devastatingly impacted by the catastrophic flood waters,” said Randy Johnson, president of God’s Pit Crew. “Our entire team can’t wait to present the Ellis family with a new home that they can find peace in after feeling so lost for the past few years. Our work would not be possible without our amazing volunteers and donors. Thank you to all who support God’s Pit Crew.”
What wonderful work for families. I am in Kansas, moving to Tenneessee in the Lobelville area and wondered how we could become involved in this type of work. We use to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Ks.
