Gretna High School football legend Vic Hall is bringing his experiences as a player and coach home. Hall will be hosting his first ever youth football camp on Saturday, July 8 at Gretna High School.

Registration for the camp will begin at 8:30 am and the camp will be divided into two sessions. The first session will be for youth ages 5-10 from 9-11 am and the second session will be for ages 11-13 from 12-3 pm. Online registration ends on July 5, to register online click here.

“For the camp, just teaching the game of football and we’re going to have a lot of fun and a lot of energy,” said Hall, “just teaching the game down to the fundamentals. We want the kids to have fun obviously, but want it to be something they can take back and use in youth league this Fall.”

Hall will also be hosting a coaches clinic on July 7 at 6 pm at Gretna High School. To register for the coaches clinic click here.

“I wanted to do something that any coach can use,” said Hall, “in terms of not specifically the defense or offense, but just overall coaching philosophy. I’ll also touch on some fundamentals for like blocking and tackling.”

“I know some of the coaches that may attend have been coaching longer than me, but just wanted to share my philosophy so far and what has shaped me in terms of coaching.”

Both the camp and the clinic are being sponsored by WeUpNow Gaming.

Hall is currently the Passing Game Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach at Ball State University and has now been in coaching for ten years.

During his playing career, Hall was the starting quarterback at Gretna from 2001-04. During his junior and senior seasons Hall led Gretna to a combined record of 28-0 and two Class A State Championships.

“We had a great group of guys that we really all grew up together since little league…we cared about each other, not only did we really love the game and had fun doing it, but we really cared about each other. That brotherhood and comradery that we had just made everything that we did fun and special,” said Hall.

Hall also rewrote part of the VHSL record books as he set the record for total offensive yards during his junior season with 4,434 total offensive yards. He then broke his own record during his senior season with 4,852 total yards. He was named All-State three times and was named a SuperPrep All-American during his senior season.

After High School, Hall played at UVA from 2005-2009 mostly as a defensive back and return specialist. He went on to play in the Arena Football League from 2011-2015 and was named the AFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.
