Interim Dan River District Supervisor Nancy Eanes was sworn into office June 29 by Pittsylvania County Circuit Court Clerk Mark Scarce. A ceremony marking the event was held at the County Administration Building.
Eanes thanked the members of the Board of Supervisors, county staff, Sheriff Mike Taylor and members of her family who attended the event.
“I look forward to working and serving the Dan River District,” said Eanes.
Eanes was appointed to the office June 20 by the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors. She replaces former Dan River District Supervisor Tim Chesher, who resigned due to medical issues. His resignation, announced in April, was effective June 1.
The Board also petitioned the Pittsylvania County Circuit Court for a special election to be held during the Nov. 7 general election. The winner of that race will complete the remaining two years of Chesher’s term, which runs through Dec. 31, 2025, when the seat will be up for its regularly scheduled election for a new four-year term.
There needs to be an election. How are the people of the Dan river district supposed to be ok with Eanes. I personally don’t know anything about her our her plans for our district.
Chesher was of great service to us. But, who is this woman???
