The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of animal cruelty in Pelham. On Monday, the sheriff’s office responded to a report of animal cruelty.

Deputies and animal control executed a search warrant at a property and rescued over 25 dogs and cats. The animals were suffering from a lack of basic care and were living in unsanitary, hazardous conditions.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating the case.
