The average price of gas in Virginia is up six cents this week to $3.35 a gallon. According to AAA, the average price in Virginia is still 19 cents below the national average, which is up $3.54 this week.

Prices are also up across the southside this week as the average in Danville climbed four cents to $3.12, while in Pittsylvania County the average price is up nine cents to $3.25 a gallon.

In Henry County the average price rose two cents to $3.21 and in Martinsville the price is up a penny to $3.19. In Halifax County the average price jumped 12 cents to $3.22.
