One suspect has been arrested and deputies are searching for another after a bank robbery in Martinsville on Saturday afternoon.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the robbery that occurred at Woodforest Bank located inside Walmart on Saturday afternoon. At approximately 1:59 pm, the Martinsville / Henry County 911 Communication Center received an alarm call at Woodforest Bank.
While deputies were in route to the call, the 911 communication center received an additional call that the bank had been robbed. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a white male wearing glasses with long dark-colored hair, a black hat, a gray shirt, and dark-colored pants entered the bank and walked up to the teller. The subject held up a note demanding money from the teller. The subject then took an undisclosed amount of money from the teller and exited the bank.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect exited Wal-Mart and then went into Lowes. It was also determined that the dark-colored hair on the male subject was a wig. The suspect had removed the wig and glasses before entering Lowes. Once inside Lowes, he purchased a shirt, hat, and a pair of black shoes. He then went to the restroom area of Lowes and changed his clothing before exiting the store.
A white female driving a GMC truck dropped the male subject off at Walmart. Deputies believe he also left the area in the same truck. As investigators continued to work on this case, leads began to develop through Crimestoppers tips, and two suspects were identified. Both suspects have been charged with one count of Robbery.
The suspects were identified as:
- Nicole Renea Robinette, 51,
Robinette has been taken into custody.
- William Robert Schandel Jr., 47,
Schandel is currently wanted for Robbery.
