On Monday the Danville Planning Commission recommended approval of a special use permit application allowing for the expansion of a planned apartment building along Stewart Street.
Danville City Council previously approved the apartments for the development of Stewart Street in April 2022 but the developers have acquired additional parcels that have allowed for the expansion of the project.
The expanded project will now include 195 market-rate units with 257 parking spaces and access from both West Main and Watson Street. The developable area has also increased from 6.59 acres to 9.0. A total of 48 parcels are part of the Planned Unit Development and included in the special use permit application.
Danville City Council will vote on the project at their July 18 meeting.
