A mistrial has been declared for a man that was allegedly involved in the murder of a man in Gretna in 2022. Daniel Neal is being charged for his involvement in the death of Charles Van Hooker on February 11, 2022. Hooker died from gunshot wounds.
Neal is not believed to be the trigger man, but is being charged for helping with the murder. At the trial on Monday multiple witnesses said that Neal had bragged about doing it.
However, one of the witnesses said that he had spoken with another witness inside of one of the witness rooms. The judge then issued a mistrial. Neal’s trial has been pushed back to September when a new jury will be selected.
Lucky break.. I hope this young man will be forthcoming with what he knows. I was Charles Van Hooker’s girlfriend and planned to grow old with him. Someone took him from me and this young man knows what happened.
