The public hearing for a potential development in the Tunstall District of Pittsylvania County has been postponed. The hearing was originally scheduled for the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors’ meeting on July 18 and will now be held on August 15.

The meeting was postponed due to the request of the applicant, Southside Investing, LLC. The proposed development would be located on or off of State Road 855/Martin Drive, State Road 58/Martinsville Highway, State Road 851/Peach Orchard Road, and Sugar Tree Lane in the Tunstall Election District.

The Pittsylvania County Planning Commission unanimously approved the mixed used development in early June. The total land size of the proposed development is 614 acres.

Many local residents spoke against the proposed development at the Board of Supervisors meeting in June.
