Yesterday Danville Mayor Alonzo Jones and Danville Public Schools Superintendent Angela Hairston announced that four local businesses have adopted Woodberry Elementary School for the upcoming academic year.
Sovah Health – Danville, Tyson Foods, Herc Rentals, and JKlipperZ Barbershop provided school supplies and monetary donations to the school staff at the ceremony. Sovah Health presented the school with a $5,000 check.
Hairston thanked the businesses for their support.
“Schools do not live apart from the community and we certainly have demonstrated that today,” said Hairston, “the community has taken ownership of our children and our success and we really appreciate your support in all that we do and lets not stop here, lets continue to support all of the 13 schools in our district.”
