An arrest warrant has been issued following a homicide earlier this week in South Boston. The South Boston Police Department has issued a warrant for Javante Jordan on charges that include second degree murder.

Jordan and 25-year-old Quaheim Chandler were involved in an altercation at Willow Oaks Apartments on Sunday morning at 3:40 am. During the altercation Jordan allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at Chandler. 

Police say that Chandler later arrived at Sentara Halifax Hospital and died from his injuries. Authorities also say that a shooting that occurred on Monday night at 130 Poplar Creek Street where a 19-year-old was injured is believed to be connected to the homicide.

Authorities are still searching for Jordan, who is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact South Boston Police at 575-7273.
