The South Boston Fire Department responded to an RV fire at a gas station on Friday morning. The department received the call from the 911 center at 7 am for a report of an RV that had caught on fire at the Pilot Travel Center at 2190 Philpott Road.
According to the department, the fire initially started at the back of the RV while it was parked near the fuel pumps. The owners of the RV then moved it away from the pumps.
When crews arrived on scene the RV had been fully engulfed in flames. The RV was destroyed and the fire also did some damage to the Pilot sign that was above the RV. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
