The Danville Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday at Carter Bank and Trust in the 900 block of S. Main St.

At 11:13 a.m. officers responded to Carter Bank for a reported bank robbery. A suspect, white male in his 30s, described as wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, black baseball hat with black and silver book bag. He approached the counter, produced a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect left the scene on a blue motorcycle with an undisclosed amount of cash.
