A Halifax County woman was killed and two others were injured in a single vehicle crash in Charlotte County on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred at 4:27 pm on Route 360 about a mile west of Route 15.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2017 Nissan Altima ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, then overturned, and struck a road sign. A passenger in the vehicle, 79-year-old Janie P. Luck, of Nathalie, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the vehicle, 62-year-old John E. Hairston Jr., of Danville, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. The second passenger, a 61-year-old female was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.
