An Elon woman has been arrested after discharging a weapon on the property of a Caswell County Middle School. Deputies responded to Dillard Middle School at 5:30 pm on Monday for a report of shots fired.

After an investigation it was determined that a weapon was discharged on school property. 30-year-old Amanda Coleman was arrested for one felony count of possession of a firearm and four counts of misdemeanor child abuse. 

She was placed in the Caswell County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
