The Virginia Department of Health has reported that they found numerous violations at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival.  Most of the violations were around sanitary conditions.  VDH is still in the process of formally documenting those violations.

Brookie Crawford, Public Information Officer for the VDH, said in an e-mail that the violations didn’t cause the cancellation.
“These violations were not cause for the Blue Ridge Rock Festival to be shut down. VDH did not shut down the Blue Ridge Rock Festival,” said Crawford.
The festival announced that they had canceled the weekend events due to severe weather leaving thousands of attendees enraged. A report from WDBJ 7 cited that the festival may have been canceled due to a strike by stagehand workers over unsanitary working conditions.
