The east coasts of Virginia and the Carolinas is under a Tropical Storm Warning as Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 is projected to make landfall on late Friday or early Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg the storm will bring rain and strong winds to the southside. Danville and Martinsville are both projected to see 0.5-1 inch of rain, while South Boston could see 1-1.5 inches.
The storm could bring wind gusts as strong as 45 MPH. According to CNN, if the storm becomes a Tropical Storm it will be named Ophelia or Phillipe, depending on when it is named.
