The VHSL has released the brackets for the 2023 high school football playoffs. The GW Eagles are the 7-seed in the 4D Regional and will play at Jefferson Forest on Friday night at 7. GW is 6-4 and has won five games in a row while JF finished the season 9-1 and was undefeated until losing to LCA on Friday.

The Gretna Hawks are the 2-seed in Region 2C after going  8-2 during the regular season and winning the Dogwood District Championship. Gretna will host 3-7 Floyd County on Friday night at 7.

The Chatham Cavaliers are the 5-seed in region 2C after finishing the regular season 7-3. Chatham will have a rematch 4-seed Appomattox on Friday at 7 pm. App0mattox won the first meeting 51-26 on Oct. 13.
