Pittsylvania County will hold an open house on Thursday, Dec. 14, to collect input on the zoning ordinance. The county’s zoning ordinance has not received any major upgrades since it was created in 1991.
Pittsylvania County has contracted with the Berkley Group, a local government consulting firm, to conduct a complete rewrite of the County Zoning Ordinance. The current zoning regulations and land development standards will be evaluated, reviewed, updated, and revised as guided by the boards and the citizens to ensure that all zoning regulations are modern and user-friendly.
The new ordinance is expected to be presented to the Board of Supervisors in spring 2024 for potential adoption.
The open house will be held from 6-7:30 pm at the Board Meeting Room located at 39 Bank Street in Chatham.
