The Danville Police Department was presented with a box today by WoodmenLife Virginia filled with items for youth dealing with tragedy.
Deemed the Danville Passion Project, this box was inspired by Bexley Boxes, which began out of the need for children waiting long hours at the police department to have access to items such as toys, books, diapers, wipes, non-perishable snacks, cups, and so forth. It is available to fill the needs of children of all ages at any given time.
“The Danville Passion Project box will provide the department with items to make a child’s extended stay more welcoming and enjoyable during a challenging time,” Community Relations Liaison Ashtyn Foddrell said.
The box is located in the patrol office and will be replenished as needed.
