The City of Danville announced their holiday hours for Christmas and New Year’s. The Municipal Building and all other City of Danville government offices and the public library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas Day holiday. In addition, with Christmas Eve falling on Sunday, the offices will remain closed on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in observance of the holiday.

The James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 22, and it will be closed on both Monday and Tuesday of next week.

The Municipal Building and all other City of Danville government offices, the library and the courthouse will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Danville Transit will not operate on Monday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Dec. 26, in observance of the Christmas holidays. In addition, Senior Transportation Services will not be provided on Sunday, Dec. 24.

Household trash and yard waste collection normally scheduled for Monday pickup will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 23, instead of Christmas Day. Residents who regularly have Tuesday pickup will see no change in collections, with pickup for trash and yard waste remaining on that day as normally scheduled.

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, the Municipal Building and all other City of Danville government offices, and the library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1.

The courthouse will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, and Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Household trash and yard waste collection normally scheduled for Monday pickup will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 30, instead of New Year’s Day.

Danville Transit buses will not operate on New Year’s Day.

The City of Danville’s Public Works Department is adjusting the refuse and yard waste collection schedule for Monday, Dec. 25, and Monday, Jan. 1, because of the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays.

There will be no collection on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. For residents who receive service on Mondays, collection will take place instead on the Saturday before the holiday, which will be Saturday, Dec. 23, and Saturday, Dec. 30.
