Movement Bank has announced it will relocate from downtown Danville. The bank will relocate to 1296 Piney Forest Road on January 22.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on March 28.
A release from the bank said the relocation is an example of the banks commitment to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape, allowing the bank to better align its resources with its mission of serving communities. The move away from downtown Danville reflects a strategic vision to enhance operational efficiency and foster continued growth while maintaining an unwavering dedication to the core values that have defined Movement Bank since its establishment in 1919.
Commenting on the relocation, Michael Whitehead, President of Movement Bank, said, “This strategic relocation allows us to optimize our operations, embrace new opportunities, and continue our mission of positively impacting the lives of the people we serve.” He continues, “We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and remain dedicated to the purpose that has driven Movement Bank for over a century.”
The relocation comes eight months after the bank opened its fourth location, expanding its footprint in Asheville, NC, and updated its core operating system to provide its customers with new digital capabilities and enhanced services across all its digital platforms.
“Having been an integral part of the bank’s legacy over three decades, I view this relocation as a pivotal moment in our journey,” remarked Jackie Barksdale, a dedicated team member and Branch Manager with a rich history at Movement Bank. “While bidding farewell to downtown Danville brings a mix of reminiscence and anticipation, I am confident that this strategic move will benefit the bank and position us to continue our legacy of community, service, and love. We look forward to creating new connections and serving our community in innovative ways from our new location.”
