The Danville Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Tuesday. The department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 119 Crosland Ave, Apartment 4.

The first fire department unit on scene reported light smoke showing and gave “working fire” orders.  Upon further investigation, it was discovered the fire was confined to the stove and surrounding cabinets.

Fire department personnel quickly extinguished the fire with a water can. There were no injuries or deaths.

The fire was small and the cause of the fire was accidental. The occupant left the stove top on and went to work.

There was a total of three fire engines, one ladder truck, one safety vehicle, and one command unit.  There were a total of 15 fire department personnel, 5 Danville Life Saving Crew members, and one police officer on scene. The fire marshal responded to the scene upon request and investigated the scene.
