On Friday Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced the recipients of the $18 million Community Development Block Grants for 16 projects across the Commonwealth.
Projects in South Boston and Stuart received grants totaling $2,240,272. In South Boston, the Westside Mobile Home Park Redevelopment Project received $1.25 million for development of a total of 40 buildable lots, comprised of both new rental and first-time homebuyer units.
The town of South Boston began revitalizing the area last year and is expected to spend136 nearly $5 million before all is said and done.
The Town of Stuart was awarded $990,272 for its Downtown Revitalization Project.
