The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Meeting of the Membership on February 1, 2024, at 7:30 a.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.
Todd Haymore, managing director of global impact, commerce, and government relations for Hunton, Andrews, Kurth LLP, and Linda Green, vice president of economic development at the Institute of Advanced Learning and Research, will present a keynote on the growth of the region and the influence of foreign and domestic trade. Haymore, a native of the region, served as secretary of commerce and trade under Governor Terry McAuliffe and secretary of agriculture and forestry under Governors Bob McDonnell and McAuliffe. Green is also the executive director of the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance and is serving a term as president of the Virginia Economic Developers Association.
The annual meeting will also introduce the Chamber’s officers and board of directors for 2024. Anne Moore-Sparks, president and CEO of the Chamber, will deliver a progress report on the Chamber’s four-year strategic plan to support and engage business and industry through high quality resources and relationships.
“The Chamber has an important role in leveraging the phenomenal growth that has come to our region,” said Moore-Sparks. “The region’s business community deserves an advocate to maximize the opportunities from that growth. The strategic plan ensures the Chamber fulfills that obligation for the benefit of our members.”
The cost to attend, including a hot breakfast buffet, is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Pre-registration is required by January 25 at https://bit.ly/2024DPCAnnualMeeting or by calling the Chamber at 434-836-6990. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
