Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality.  The crash occurred Wednesday at 6:25 pm on Route 40, near Route 946 in Franklin County.

A 1995 Honda Accord was traveling east on Route 40 when the vehicle crossed the center-line and struck a 2000 Ford Explorer, head-on.

The driver of the Honda was identified as Andrew C. Robertson, 67, of Pittsville. Robertson was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

Lorenza W. Terry, 67, of Penhook, Va. was the driver of the Ford and was wearing her seatbelt. Terry was transported by helicopter to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries received in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation
