Average gas prices across Virginia climbed by four cents this week to $2.96 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by a penny to $3.07 a gallon.

Prices across the southside are up slightly as well. The average price of gas in Danville is up by two cents to $2.83, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by a penny to $2.92 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is also up by a penny to $2.88 and in Henry County the average price is also up by a penny to $2.90. Average prices in Halifax County are up by seven cents to $2.97 a gallon.
