Average gas prices across Virginia jumped by seven cents this week to $3.03 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by a nickel to $3.12 a gallon.

Prices across the southside have also continued to rise. The average price of gas in Danville is up by nine cents to $2.92, while the average price in Pittsylvania County climbed six cents to $2.98 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price jumped by seven cents to $2.95 and in Henry County the average price was up by four cents to $2.94. Halifax County is the one exception across the southside as prices are down a penny to $2.96.
