One person was arrested for a stabbing in Eden on Saturday afternoon. Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 5170 NC 700 in Eden for a reported stabbing at 12:30 pm.

Upon their arrival, they discovered Steven Craig Wilmoth, Jr., 32, on the porch of the residence, bleeding from several lacerations on his body. Wilmoth was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries and is expected to recover.

Following an investigation and interviews with witnesses at the scene, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators believe that Randall “Caleb” Chilton, 31, of 186 Garrett Rd. Eden, N.C., arrived at the residence, and an argument ensued between him and Wilmoth, resulting in Chilton assaulting Wilmoth with a knife.

Chilton was charged and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and carrying a concealed weapon. Chilton was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under no bond.
