A suspect in a Danville homicide in May 2023 will go to trial next week. 35-year-old Omar Chandler is charged with the homicide of 38-year-old Randy Womack on May 14, 2023 in the 700 block of Hughes Street.

Danville Police responded at 11 pm and found Womack with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to S0vah Health-Danville where he was pronounced dead.

Chandler is facing charges of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm in the commission of murder. Chandler has pleaded not guilty and will have a bench trial on March 5.
