Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality.  The crash occurred Friday at 11:15 a.m. on Walkers Well Road, one tenth of a mile south of Cherrystone Lake Road in Pittsylvania County.

A 2001 Toyota Corolla was traveling on Walkers Well Road, when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 1989 GMC 2500 head-on.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as Vincent Brian Adkins, 59, of Callands, Va. Adkins died at the scene.

The driver and the passenger of the GMC were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
