On Tuesday night the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors voted to reinstate the Beautification Committee in the county. Chatham-Blairs Supervisor Ken Bowman led the initiative to reinstate the committee.
The committee will be made up of seven citizens, one from each election district. The committee could organize county-wide cleanups, apply for grants, and encourage businesses and individuals to adopt highways.
Bowman will serve as the liaison for the Beautification Committee for the Board of Supervisors. The committee will also work with the county administrator, public works, and vdot to get the things needed to conduct cleanups.
