The City of Martinsville’s Communication and Community Engagement office is hosting its inaugural ‘Get Fit Challenge,’ a 30-day weight loss/fitness competition that promotes different ways people can live a healthy lifestyle in the city through events and programs. While the challenge is open to participation from the public, a more competitive competition will be hosted, filmed, and aired as a show on MGTV Ch. 22 and social media.
The Communication and Community Engagement Office has issued a casting call for 20 participants to be featured in the ‘Get Fit Challenge’ show.
The show will feature four teams of five people, each led by one of our local personal trainers, competing for team and individual awards, as film crews will document their journey to a healthy lifestyle and air the competition as a five-part mini-series.
The winning team will receive a month’s gym membership to the participating gym of their choice, and the individual winner will receive three months. However, more prizes in awards may be announced at a later time.
Interested participants can visit https://www.martinsville-va. gov/getfit for more information and to apply. Video submissions are not required, but they are encouraged.
