On Tuesday night, Danville City Council unanimously approved a a special use permit for a new hotel on Riverside Drive. The special use permit will allow for the proposed Tru and Home2Suites Hotel to be 53 feet tall, which is three feet higher than the previous height restriction.

RMC Investments LLC is planning to build a new 143 room hotel at 1080 Riverside Drive. The hotel will be a limited service hotel and will employ about 30 people.

The hotel will be 15,600 square feet and will share an entrance with the Hampton Inn. 

City Council also approved a special use permit to allow a waiver of maximum floor area at 403 Spring Street for the construction of a parking garage. The parking garage will have 432 spaces and be six stories in height.
