A man has been arrested following a shooting in Martinsville last week. 40-year-old Steven Porter was arrested for the shooting that occurred on Friday morning in the 1000 block of Cherry Street.
Porter was taken to SOVAH Health Martinsville with a gunshot wound. Porter was then arrested on Monday by Carilion Roanoke Police after evidence discovered during the investigation led to the arrest.
Porter has been charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
The investigation remains open.
