A man was arrested in Reidsville early Thursday morning after a reported shooting. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, at 1:34 am, deputies were dispatched to 165 Landen Dr.  in response to gunshots being fired and someone being shot. Upon their arrival, deputies determined that no one at the residence had been shot.

Through an investigation, deputies discovered that a domestic altercation had taken place at the residence before their arrival. After their investigation, deputies arrested Charlie Dean Broadnax, 32,  for domestic assault on a female, simple assault, felony possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Eleven ounces of Marijuana and digital scales were seized from the scene and placed into evidence. Charlie Dean Broadnax was placed in the Rockingham County Jail and is currently under domestic hold until his first appearance before a District Court Judge to set his bond.
