There were no injuries during a house fire in Danville on Monday afternoon. At around 1 pm, the Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 211 Broad Street.

The engine company from Industrial Ave. was the first to arrive and found the back porch on fire, which sustained damage along with the siding on the house and a portion of the floor joists in the crawl space. The fire was extinguished and the smoke removed from the house.

The cause of the fire was investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office and found to be discarded smoking materials. The house sustained minor damage and the residents could continue to stay there.
