Some Danville Utilities customers are experiencing a power outage after a substation transformer was struck by lightning on Tuesday night. According to Danville Utilities,  the outage affected customers in the Brosville, Axton, and Cascade areas.

Service for customers in the Brosville and Stony Mill areas was restored overnight by serving them from the Westover and Tunstall substations. Customers in the Axton and Cascade areas are expected to be without service for much of Wednesday until they can bring in a mobile substation and make the connections.
