Last night, Danville City Council approved revisions to the contract with Caesars. The new contract will see a change in the number of employees.
The original agreement called for 1300 jobs, while the revision lowers the number to between 900 and 1300 employees. The revisions also include an increase in the cost of the project from $400 million to $750 million.
The revisions also include a 40,000 square foot multipurpose entertainment venue and conference center. The space was originally slated to be 35,000 square feet.
The project also now has a completion date of December 31, 2024. The hotel and casino is expected to have 320 rooms including a spa, pool, and sports book.
