A man has been arrested for a shooting that occurred in Danville in January. The Danville Police Department arrested Devonta Lewayne Dodson, 32, on Wednesday. Dodson was wanted on felony charges following a shooting that occurred around 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Keen Street on January 17, 2024, where a 19-year-old male was struck by gunfire. Dodson has been charged with:

18.2-51 Attempted Malicious Wounding
18.2-51.1 Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
18.2-280 Discharging a Firearm in Public
18.2-286.1 Shooting from a Vehicle
18.2-308.2 Possessing a Firearm by a Violent Felon

In addition to these charges by the Danville Police Department, Dodson was wanted on three additional warrants from other jurisdictions. He is being held under no bond.
