The Danville Fire Department responded to a structure early on Monday morning. Units responded to the structure fire at 434 Kemper Road at 4:30 am with a total of 15 personnel.

The first arriving unit saw heavy smoke coming from the residence with all occupants outside of the home. Fire department personnel began the extinguishment process and one pet was found deceased inside of the home.

No other injuries were reported.  The fire department remained on scene while the Fire Marshal’s office started their investigation to determine a cause.

The DFD was assisted on scene by the Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville PD, Danville Electric Dept., and Danville Water & Gas.  The American Red Cross was notified and they will be assisting the occupants.
