A member of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office has been chosen for a big honor. The North American Police Work Dog Association Committee Members have chosen Investigator Corey Waddell to be honored with the Valor Award for Bravery and Heroism in the line of duty.

On the night of April 19, 2022, Investigator Waddell and his K9 partner, Raja, apprehended an armed suspect with several outstanding felony warrants. Despite the suspect resisting arrest and attempting to fight with Investigator Waddell and another deputy, K9 Raja’s actions enabled them to take the suspect into custody without further incident.
